Press Release 9/24/2022 13th Annual National Harm Reduction Coalition Conference Set to Take Place in San Juan, Puerto Rico New York, NY 09.24.22—National Harm Reduction Coalition looks forward to holding its biennial conference October 13-16 in San Juan, Puerto Rico. San Juan is one of several municipios in Puerto Rico that sustained minimal damage from Hurricane Fiona. Our team has worked in close consultation with local officials, and they have assured us it is safe to move forward with our conference as planned. “We are proud to support San Juan’s economy as the island is attempting to restart tourism in places that are safe. Our conference follows the US Conference on HIV/AIDS which will be held a week earlier. Both are major events which will attract thousands of participants to San Juan” said Dr. Orisha Bowers, executive director of the National Harm Reduction Coalition. “Harm reduction takes many forms, and this is yet another way we can support community members when help is needed.” The National Harm Reduction Conference is the largest convening of its kind in the United States. For four days, some of the most creative minds from the U.S. and abroad come together to expand perspectives, gain new skills, and change the narrative about people who use drugs.
